THE
NEW CASIO DT-X10
INDUSTRIAL HANDHELD TERMINAL WITH BUILT-IN C-MOS IMAGER AND
BLUETOOTH™ WIRELESS RUNNING WINDOWS® CE.NET
The DT-X10
is equipped with a C-MOS Imager capable of two-dimensional
code reading and image capture.
Model with Wireless LAN Module Built-in Also Available
T he
DT-X10 will use an Intel®PXA250 Application
Processor to achieve maximum performance. To ensure a truly
open architecture for the development community the DT-X10
will use the Windows®CE.NET operating system
(applications should be tested for compatability). The C-MOS
Imager, which comes standard, enables the user to read OCR and
signs on the spot as well as two-dimensional
codes/one-dimensional bar codes, and thus meets diversified
scanning needs in industries such as transportation,
distribution, manufacturing, retail, and healthcare.
Bluetooth™
is also standard, and wireless communications is possible with
compatible equipment such as BluetoothÔ label printers and
cellular phones (optional and sold separately). The screen is
the new CASIO specific color TFT that has a clear display
indoors and out.
Other notable
features: dust and water splash proof (compliant with IP54*),
shock-resistant for withstanding a fall from up to 1.2m, and
they have an operating temperature range of -20° C to 50° C.
The product is well suited for harsh conditions such as
extreme heat and moisture. Plastic material is used for the
touch panel to enhance its strength.
*IP5x: While a
unit is not protected from dust completely, dust shall not be
allowed to enter the unit to impair reasonable operation.
*IPx4: Even if
water is splashed on a unit from any direction, it shall not
have a harmful impact.
CASIO offers a
lineup that includes the PC card slot (TYPE II) model and a
model with the Wireless LAN module built-in. The PC card slot
model supports Wireless WAN such as the CDMA/GSM/GPRS
communication cards. The model with the Wireless LAN module
built-in is compliant with IEEE802.11b, and facilitates LAN
connections.

industries.
DT-X10 FEATURES
 |
The Intel®PXA250
Application Processor, offers high-speed scanning. Windows®CE.NET
has been adopted as the operating system. These features
deliver high expandability with versatile interfaces, easy
operation using a large screen, pen operation, and
advantages in application software development for business
by using an open software development environment.
|
 |
By installing the
high-performance C-MOS Imager, it is possible to read not
only two-dimensional codes, one-dimensional bar codes but
also OCR. Images such as signatures can be captured with
ease.
|
 |
The 3.5-inch (240
x 320 dot) new TFT color LCD screen drastically improves
outdoor visibility. While external light is diffused and
absorbed with conventional transmissive LCDs, it is
converted to reflecting light efficiently with the CASIO
specific optical film and an easy to read display is
achieved indoors and out. In addition, a touch panel is
installed to enable easy operation and input.
|
 |
Integrated
Bluetooth™ module enables wireless communications with
Bluetooth™ equipment.
Casio offers a lineup of two models, giving users a
choice to suit their communications environment:
|
 |
PC card slot model
(DT-X10M30U)
It is possible to
use CDMA, GSM/GPRS communication cards, and to respond to
various businesses requiring Wireless WAN.
|
 |
Wireless LAN
module built-in model (DT-X10M30URC)
This model is
compliant with IEEE802.11b and supports TCP/IP. Connections
with the LAN system are made with ease.
|
 |
If the CF
extension slot (optional) is attached, a CF card can be
used.

 |
Equipped with a
large liquid crystal panel, this product has an
easy-to-handle construction
with a slender
grip, making it easy to hold. The trigger key for reading
and capturing is placed on both sides of the body, where it
can be used with ease.
|
 |
The same key
arrangement as used in a cellular phone has been adopted,
and character input using the scrolling method as well as
numeral input are possible. Characters from the keypad can
be input on the liquid crystal screen.
|
 |
When the main
power supply (lithium ion rechargeable battery) is used up,
power is switched over to the backup (lithium battery.)
Also, this device is equipped with non-volatile memory
(FROM), which is capable of retaining data even if a battery
runs out. |
