Datamation Introduces Innovative Service
Program
Several years ago, during the Y2K hysteria,
it became apparent that our clients wanted dedicated, predictable service
programs. With the proliferation of technology-based equipment and
software applications, a new breed of service technician was also
required.
As a result of these two forces, Datamation Systems introduced its Systems
and Support Contract Agreement. These agreements are available for
different levels of guaranteed service reponses. Our client is guaranteed
that a fully-trained technician will respond to their request within a
predetermined time and perform onsite service, if required. In the past,
service was scheduled based on the availablity of the technicians (a
practice still followed by most competitors). Inevitably, clients hope
that the technicians are not too busy and can fit them in to their
schedule.
Another aspect of Datamation's program is the use of highly trained
technicians, programming services, advance testing labs with all the
current operating platforms and reasonable labor rates.
Rates for the Systems and Support Agreements are based on the service
response levels selected but they all provide access to the same technical
staff. Contracted time, purchased in advance, will not expire for two
years. This is a major benefit to companies that purchase very expensive
annual agreements, have minimal service requirements and find themselves
looking at a renewal before they even use their paid time.
In addition, how our clients use our time is entirely up to them.
Depending on their level of internal resources, they can use us to
troubleshoot simple problems or only call when a complex issue needs
resolution. They can even use the time for additional training.
