Designs Bring "Front Office" Looks to the Delivery
of Mail |

Mail delivery options in offices have traditionally required a
compromise. To get a durable mail and office cart that was easy to
handle you had to use an ugly, industrial-style construction that
did not fit in with the design concerns of the modern office. In
some cases, these carts where quite durable, constructed of welded
steel frames but were heavy and cumbersome to move.
Hamilton Sorter, Secure Mailing Systems (SMS) and
Charnstrom have long been the leaders in mail center furniture;
and have developed new types of mail cart that combine durability,
function and a look that fits into the most "design-conscious"
office environment. Charnstrom and SMS have introduced carts that are very vibrant yet retain the
durable qualities of their predecessors. Most mail carts continue to
have welded construction but use much lighter materials.
Carts manufactured by Hamilton Sorter available in a choice of more
than 20 laminates that complement Hamilton's (and other furniture
manufacturers) colors. The carts are also available in a variety of
configurations. The use of different platforms, lengths and widths,
permit the mail manager to select a specific cart configuration that
will meet his/her operational needs. In many cases, we have clients
that order custom carts to fully match a well designed office
environment. For a totally integrated office and mail center
appearance, these carts are very attractive and completely
functional.
Most of today's mail carts have tubular steel handle that are padded
for
comfort and ergonomics. Carts are fully protected by
scuff-resistant black bumpers
to protect walls and furniture,
especially in elevators and executive office environments.
Additional protection is available to protect such precious surfaces
as marble walls, floors and expensive room decor's. Existing mail
carts, purchased from us, can be retrofitted to meet new facility
requirements.
Wheels another component that has improved dramatically. Hamilton
Sorter, SMS and Charnstrom offer standard wheels that are inset to
avoid contact with passing objects and to provide extraordinary
maneuverability for a cart. Compared to older, traditional mail
carts, the new generation of wheels turn and swivel with the
lightest touch.
Many different accessories are
available from each manufacturer. Baskets are available for
different types of material;
support hanging folders and can be easily removed, making room
for packages and other delivery items.
Locking devices and different covers are available to meet
unique mail operational requirements should these carts need to be
left in an open space for a long period of time..
