The Tritek NOMAD is a portable OCR machine designed for delivery point barcoding of letter mail and specialized document processing. It requires less than 10 feet of floor space, operates on 120 volt AC power and has a throughput speed of 10,000 letters / documents per hour. The standard Nomad is interfaced with an inkjet printer.
Mail is processed laying flat with the address block facing up to the camera. The mail is read by a high resolution OCR camera and software that has been developed from extensive work in the mail processing industry. The system determines delivery point information by using an on-board look-up software program.
This program contains all the delivery point information required for USPS MASS certified postnet barcoding. The cycle speed of the NOMAD is 10,000 per hour for OCR recognition and up to 20,000 per hour for barcode reading. The standard NOMAD is equipped with a 5” x 10” field of view CCD camera and reads machine print, handwriting and all types of barcode formats.
