Vertical Markets Serve the Mail Industry
Several months ago, Datamation Systems hosted
a group discussion concerning mail center management responses of
biological threats. This colloquium was specific to the pharmaceutical
industry and was attended by several of the area's most prominent
companies. Some of those those who were not able to attend sent written
descriptions of their operations and changes in policies to manage
potential security threats. At the conclusion of the program (and with
the permission of the attendees), Datamation Systems compiled the results
of the meeting and made them available to other members of the industry.
The information and willingness of these industry peers to help one
another was invaluable. It was also a testament to what can be
accomplished when companies work together to solve common problems.
The New York/New Jersey metropolitan area is
home to many corporate giants. Industry organizations like the Mail
Systems Management Association and Postal Customer Councils help organize
events which facilitate opportunities for industry managers to meet and
share common concerns. In our 40 years in business, Datamation Systems
